The Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) society and the Fuld-Gilad Herring Academy of Competitive Intelligence LLC (ACI) announced a new joint venture, the "SCIP CIP™ Conferred by ACI," to advance the level of professional training worldwide by providing an accredited ACI Competitive Intelligence Professional (CIP™) certification program and making it available to a global business audience. The new certification program will be taught by established ACI faculty and follow ACI’s accredited curriculum of courses.

Like many of our alumni, you may be in a competitive intelligence role with little professional training and no experience. You may also need professional education in competitive intelligence skills to translate information into competitive insights, to learn information collection skills, or to develop the specialized management skills needed to operate a competitive intelligence program inside your own firm. In short, you need the SCIP CIP™ Conferred by ACI certificate to achieve the highest professional standards in this new field.

TO EARN THE IACET-APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs)
The Academy of Competitive Intelligence has been approved as an authorized provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500 McLean, VA 22102. As a student in the ACI courses, you qualify to receive
CEUs for each and every course you attend, provided you fulfill
the course requirements. To receive CEU credits, students must:
- Participate in course lectures, teamwork, exercises, and simulations;
- Attend the entire course.

HOW TO EARN THE CIP™ CERTIFICATION(S)
To earn the CIP™-I core and CIP™-II advanced level of certification you would need to complete the required number of courses for each level and pass an exam for each level.
CIP™-I level certification requires completion of courses CI 101®, CI 202®, CI 301, CI 302, CI 303. Once you have completed these courses you would be eligible to take the exam.
CIP™-II level certification requires completion of courses CI 401, CI 402, CI 403, and CIP™-I certification. You cannot receive the CIP™-II certification without first receiving the CIP™-I certification.
The exam fee for each level is $150.00 (€108 for Brussels). The exam is a 50 multiple choice question exam which you would take online. You would be sent a login and a password to the URL. The passing grade is 75. Once you have logged in, you will see that you have 14 days to complete the exam. Once you have completed the exam you will be able to see your score right away. You are able to stop and resume when you would like within that 14 day window. The answers are automatically saved.
For those colleagues who are taking online courses, your access to the online courses will no longer be active while taking the exam(s). The examinations are only offered at set times during the year.
