Robert Flynn

Robert Flynn is an accomplished marketing executive with international and domestic experience across business, government, and not-for-profit environments. He has extensive background in healthcare, national security, and financial services, and in functions including strategy, policy, fraud, and marketing. At Fuld + Company, Mr. Flynn is CMO and Principal, providing strategic counsel to corporate leaders on issues relating to competitive strategy.

Previously, Mr. Flynn managed marketing operations at Travelers, serving as Interim Chief Marketing Officer and as Special Assistant to the President. He was the founding Executive Director of the Connecticut Governor’s Insurance and Financial Services Cluster, a CEO-level collaboration to build scenarios for the state’s economic future. He led business development at Mellon Bank’s asset allocation subsidiary, and managed strategy at Aetna. At Deloitte Consulting, Mr. Flynn managed risk management engagements with Fortune 1000 firms in diverse industries. He spent thirteen years as an intelligence officer at the Central Intelligence Agency, where he conducted risk assessments of U.S. operations worldwide, and was assigned as U.S. representative to the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency. He served as Chief of Base in the Middle East, leading a then unprecedented international intelligence office. He earned CIA and UN commendations for his leadership on issues related to the Persian Gulf.

Mr. Flynn earned his Master of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut, graduating with Highest Honors distinction, Beta Gamma Sigma, and was named alumnus of the year for his work in creating new programs. Mr. Flynn earned a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.

He is a published author in Risk Management (2017), Handbook of Business Strategy (2006 and 1998), Journal of Alternative Investments (2005), Measuring Business Excellence (2005), and Proteus: Insights from 2020 (2000). Mr. Flynn serves on several community Boards of Directors.
